Show Plot Summary:
Forget the 24 hour biased left wing news media, the best fake news show in the world will provide you with all the news you can handle. The Daily Show is a comedic view of recent news headlines and political figures through a series of satirical monologues by Jon Stewart along with segments by "correspondents" and finally interviews with guest celebrities and political figures. Craig Kilborn (SportsCenter) was the original host until the fourth season when Jon Stewart (The Jon Stewart Show) came in to take over after Kilborn left for CBS.

Storyline:
Providing comedy/news in the tradition of TV Nation and SNL's Weekend Update, Comedy Central's Daily Show reports on the foibles and of the real world with a satirical edge. In addition to news stories, the Daily Show also has celebrities (and semi-celebrities) on for interviews with the host, Jon Stewart. Lampooning everything from televangelists to Charlton Heston ("I did not play a homo in Ben-Hur"), and shamelessly assigning faux-news epithets ("Newt Gingrich: Giant Toddler") Kilborn, Winstead, and the crew actually manage to report some real news from time to time.

Did You Know?
According to a 7 October 2003, USA Today article, the show is pulled together in this way: a researcher scans major newspapers, the Associated Press, and cable news channels, then gives possible topics to the ten writers. These meet to discuss headline material for the lead news segment. By 11:15 a.m. they meet with Jon Stewart, and by 12:30 they have come up with jokes for the day's show. The cast hold a rehearsal, then the show is taped at 6:30 in front of an audience.

Expedition Impossible Review:
"Sun! Sand! Sahara!" (Series Premiere) (06/23/2011)
Expedition Impossible creator Mark Burnett has a theory on how his new adventure show on ABC is different from CBS' Amazing Race. "There’s no taxis. There’s no hotels," he says. Yep, that just about covers it.

Well, there is one other difference. The 13 teams trekking across Morocco on this amazing race impossible expedition have three people instead of the traditional pair. That means each team has one more person to hyperventilate halfway up a Sahara Desert sand dune; hyperventilate rappelling down the side of a 300-foot cliff; puke in the bushes; or crack snide remarks while her teammates cry. Yes, all that happens during the first episode and the teams' squabbling and passive-aggressive hysterics are easily the most entertaining part of the show.

There's a redneck team ("Country Boys"), a hot girl team ("California Girls"), and a string of groups apparently born without imaginations ("Football Players," "Cops," "Firemen," "Fisherman"). Only a couple of teams stand out in the early going –– the former gay lovers and a sister ("Fab 3") for example –– but hopefully that should change as the field is whittled down and the survivors get more screen time to flesh out their personalities.

The team with the blind guy ("No Limits") is probably the most fascinating. Not only is the guy an experienced adventurer, he's climbed Mt. Everest. Everest! His handicap turns out to be an asset rappelling down the cliff (the 300-foot drop doesn't bother him), but he's of no help counting snakes ("I don't see sh*t"). I'm tempted to tune in for future episodes just to see how he and his team adapt to the different challenges.

In general, those challenges are a mixed bag. The sand dune climb, cliff rappel, and camel riding all push the contestants to their bickering best. Because camels, apparently, are the devil's spawn. But who thought counting snakes was interesting? It's not, and only one team struggled with the challenge (the team with the blind guy, obviously). And once the Fab 3 figured out where to find water in the desert –– underground –– everyone completed the challenge in seconds. The only real competitive drama came in the closing minutes when the sassy Latina ladies ("Latin Persuasion") argued/puked/cried their way into a final sprint with the geriatric team ("Grandpa's Warriors").

In terms of the setting, challenges, and format, Expedition Impossible only superficially distinguishes itself from Amazing Race. Still, the real draw for these adventure contests is watching the teams argue, struggle, and overcome challenges and that holds true for this one as well. Plus, it's got a blind guy.

Colbert begins the show with teasers about the show's content and then the credits go by, with a giant eagle and the stars and stripes featured predominantly. Colbert will pepper commentaries with phrases like, "Look, I don't have time to read books," or, "President Bush isn't a head thinker, he's a gut thinker." Aspects of talking head programs are exaggerated and Colbert presents a host overwhelmed by his own importance. Guests do not walk on-stage but are seated at a small table to the side. Colbert runs over to them, encouraging the audience to applaud and high five him as he passes. He is then likely to begin an interview by asking a guest something like, "Explain evolution in 20 seconds,"...

"The Colbert Report"
11:30 p.m. (All-New Episodes)
Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning "The Colbert Report" contains the personality, insight and overall rightness of Stephen Colbert. That's why he has a half-hour platform each night to give his take on the issues of the day and, more importantly, to tell you why everyone else's take is just plain wrong. What "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is to the evening news, "The Colbert Report" is to O'Reilly/Scarborough/Hannity/Anderson Cooper, et al…except Colbert's show is intentionally funny.

Colbert Report,

Funny to the bone. I adore the show, Steven is so appealing. My husband and I plan our evening around the Report. I cant take the news any more, it's so depressing, frustrating and totally black (the "regular" news creates bias just through how they word things - it's just inherent in language). However, both the Colbert Report and Daily show inform me while satirizing. It's a winning combination. I think Steven Colbert is brilliant. He is one of the writers for the show and all the writers seem super imaginative and right on target. His delivery is usually mesmerizing. I think this show appeals to a wide age range. I'm in my late 50s and I think there may be a younger demographic in general for Colbert. Maybe it's more of an attitude that we have in common. The show is like O'Reilly on luminescently clear hallucinogens. Steven maintains a double approach: faking a right punch, but actually hits with the left. He has appeal to clear-thinking logical folks who also love to laugh. How else can we get through this madness except with comedy?

'Love Bites' creator on Thursday's finale: 'It felt like a successful little miniseries'
by Lynette Rice
In the beginning, Love Bites on NBC showed so much promise — a dramedy-anthology featuring popular stars like Becki Newton and Greg Grunberg that creator Cindy Chupack described as Love, American Style meets Love Actually. Unfortunately, a bad combination of too many cooks (it went through three regime changes at NBC) and an ambitious conceit (new stars every week!) ended up side-lining the show. Chupack also reduced her role to that of a consultant because she had a baby on the way.

The series finally got a spot on NBC’s schedule this summer, but the die had already been cast: Thursday’s eighth episode will be its last. Fortunately, Chupack has no regrets — though she does hope that people judge Love Bites fairly (and with a little kindness).

“My feeling was if only it could have been positioned as a summer treat miniseries instead of a show that was burned off and canceled,” Chupack said of Love Bites (which has only averaged 2.45 million viewers this summer). “I feel like it was a successful little miniseries. It had amazing costars, and did something very different.”

Thursday’s finale will feature appearances by Newton, as well as Michelle Trachtenberg, Bret Harrison and Matt Long. She was glad NBC took a risk on a complicated conceit that involved introducing new characters on a weekly basis. (The show can be found on Hulu). It was like writing three mini-pilots a week, Chupack said.

“Considering everything that happened, including with me stepping down, it felt like it turned into such a delightful show,” said Chupack, who has since joined the writing staff of ABC’s Modern Family. “I hope it won’t be measured by when finally aired, or by how many episodes aired or whether it was a success or failure. Rather, was it just fun to watch and was it good?”

Series Reviews:
You gotta watch this insane show.
by brewsnbytes (United States)
Being a New Yorker by birth and a hilariously twisted bastard by nature, I see a bit of myself in all these characters. It'd be a shame if Comedy Central passed on this one before giving it a chance to expand its viewer-ship. This ain't no dry-ass Demetri or Sarah Silverman. Come on now folks! Where else can you find a government bureaucracy run by a demon and staffed by a milquetoast human, a drunken wizard, a smoking-hot, horned demoness and other monstrous, archetypal miscreants. This program ranks up there with South Park and Boondocks with its originality and bizarre and stitch-busting dark humor. It's not for everyone, especially if you're too easily offended by religious/satanic references. For the rest of us grown-ups, there's Ugly Americans.

So You Think You Can Dance Review: An All-Star Night
July 21st, 2011 6:05 AM by Radio Blah Blah
It seems like production value of So You Think You Can Dance went up this week in hopes that Nigel Lythgoe could get another Emmy nod.
A few extra camera pans in the beginning and increased set lighting, along with Cat Deeley's always cheeky hosting and guest judge Neil Patrick Harris' best fanboy comments, made for a fun night on the hit Fox competition.
The show definitely brought out the big guns, past and present, as the 10 remaining dancers competed to advance. Let's break down the performances ...

Marko & Chelsie: Samba (Jason Gilkison) - Just like on Dancing with the Stars, you just can't keep your eyes off of Chelsie and Jason made sure that there were sections where only Marko was dancing. The dance was filled with really hard choreography and Chelsie was swinging everywhere; while she kicked Marko in the head in practice, everything went perfect in the dance. Marko did a good job keeping up with Chelsie and that's all that he needed to do to succeed. My Grade: A-.
Sasha: Solo - While Sasha was a bit wobbly in her first pose, she upped the complexity of her solo this time around had a strong combination of ground work and aerial movements. Her solos have improved since she landed in the bottom three.

Jordan & Brandon: Contemporary (Dwight Rhodan & Desmond Richardson) - The dance was a run-on sentence of contemporary movements. Jordan looked effortless during the whole routine so the dance must have been catered to Jordan and Brandon's strengths. The side-by-side choreography was some of the strongest this whole season. Brandon did a great job supporting Jordan without stealing her spotlight. My Grade: A-.

Jess: Solo - Jess depended on his really strong spins and his dropping split. There was nothing wrong with the routine; he hasn't evolved his Broadway style. The best part of his performance was his interaction with Cat after his music ended.

‘The Real Housewives of New York City’ Episode 4.15 Review: Video Killed the Countess
By Melody Simpson : July 15, 2011
Last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City was drama filled and also music filled, due to the making LuAnn’s music video for “Money Can’t Buy You Love.” Whether or not LuAnn and her creative team were on one accord about the vision for the video and regardless of which house wives showed up to support her, the video was completed over a course of a few days. In case you want to know who showed up to support LuAnn, Jill showed up every single day (and complained once she began to feel exhausted every single day) and Kelly showed up for the latter portion of filming. As LuAnn said, the people who wanted to show up came and now she knows who her real friends and supporters are. It is always unfortunate to come to a moment like this and yet at the same time, LuAnn did not look into herself as an artist and human being when all of the other women canceled on her, one of which said that she did not like the message that was being sent out. In another music video, LuAnn was seen on a bed surrounded by men with their shirts off, which is just as classy as the Hummer idea from her creative team, so maybe she chose her battles with her team, but she has no right to be upset about someone telling her that they do not feel comfortable with sending off a certain message. If she were a talented singer, songwriter, and musician, people would take her more seriously and she may have had more control in the vision for her music video. Not only that, but songwriting is therapeutic and through this process, she may have seen a bit already of what Alex told the cameras about her condescending air of “class.”

What was quite unbelievable to see was Sonja telling Jill that she was not going to the music video shoot and then mentioning that Ramona was not going since her daughter was against it. Jill read between Sonja’s weak excuse and put the pieces together that Sonja was not attending because Ramona was not attending and that says a lot about the friendship between Sonja and Ramona. These two individuals generally make the same decisions when it comes to socializing with members of the Housewives cast instead of being strong independent women who can make decisions for themselves. Jill also brought up a great point that Ramona not going because her daughter was against it was very inconsistent and she could not be any more right. Not only are Sonja and Ramona attached at the hip, but Ramona consults in her daughter before going to Sonja. That is funny. So this week, Ramona claims that she spends so much time with Avery when just last week, Avery herself said that she is home alone most nights and wants to spend more time with her. Children do not lie about that kind of thing, so clearly Ramona needs a family therapy session to be on one accord with her family.

A cause worth supporting no matter which house wife was the face of it, Sonja and Ramona did head to Alex and Simon’s charity art event in Brooklyn. However, Ramona’s husband was not in the least bit pleased to travel to Brooklyn on a Friday night. It seems the charitable cause at hand meant absolutely nothing compared to his little traffic conflict. What a shallow man. Thank goodness we do not have to see the husbands on a more regular basis.

Sonja, Alex, Ramona, and her daughter, Avery were also dancing up a storm at one point in a private hip hop class and were taught how to dougie among other moves. Talk about laugh out loud comedy. All of the footage from this dance class should be put in the Gag Reel for the DVD because this is some seriously funny stuff. While it was delightful watching the ladies just have fun and let loose, it was equally as entertaining watching three women who cannot dance well enough to even making it past the first audition for So You Think You Can Dance.

Towards the end of the episode, viewers watch as Sonja prepared for Cindy’s visit over, as Sonja had invited her to breakfast to have a friendly breakfast date. Unfortunately, things were anything but. While Sonja was missing dance class, Cindy was missing work – so she brought the work to her. With her assistant in tow, Cindy proceeded to have a business call on speaker phone in Sonja’s kitchen for over 20 minutes during breakfast. Cindy did not think that her behavior was rude since she thought they were friends. But being friends does not erase common courtesy and it is in this moment in which Cindy does not understand her rude behavior that she does not cease to amaze. Just when we think we have found a house wife on the level of the respectable every day house wife, Cindy goes and does something like this. It was frightening to see Cindy so controlling in Sonja’s home when Cindy could have simply scheduled her breakfast date for a time after her three new stores had launched. Surely, Sonja would have understood. But now Cindy has gotten on Sonja’s “Do Not Invite” list and rightly so. The season finale is next Thursday and with Morocco being the most exciting part of the journey this season, there are not too many expectations for the finale. Watching LuAnn and Kelly’s friendship blossom over this season as well as Jill mature have been wonderful to see. Aside from these two aspects, the show has had quite a number of ups and downs… hopefully the finale will leave us on a high in anticipation for the reunion – which is sure to top Morocco in becoming the most exciting part of this season.

Watch the season finale of The Real Housewives of New York City Thursday at 10/9c on Bravo.

Series Reviews:
I thought the Kardashians were bad!
by (sylviastel@aol.com) (United States)
Okay, the reality show premise is five housewives of New York City. Housewives do housework but they have maids and housekeepers to take care of that and nannies and Au pairs to look after their children. I know this is supposed to be the East Coast version of the Real Housewives of Orange County, California. Okay, these five women are pretty shallow, self-indulgent, vain, conceited, and totally in love with themselves. I forgive their husbands who pay the ultimate price of the marriage. They look like fools! The wives don't really need a lot of the luxuries but they have so much money that they have to spend it endlessly on themselves. Of course, there is the charities and fund-raisers but they probably spend more money on the dresses to go to the functions to be seen and heard. I bet there were a thousand or hundreds of eligible housewives. They narrowed it down to those who look like they posed out of swimsuit issues. They are as deep as a shallow pool and are as nearly interesting. I find it incomprehendable when one of the wives makes a snide comment about living in the suburbs. I live in the New Jersey suburbs and I know that many people can't afford to live here neither. There are thousands or millions of us struggling to get by on small paychecks. Maybe Bravo can do a show on the real housewives of New Jersey. They don't have the time to socialize with each other when they are too busy working two or three jobs and chauffeuring their children from place to place. I was appalled by the cost of a purebred dog at $1800.00. Where is PETA? This is an outrage when are thousands of dogs and cats eligible for adoption. The show is just too shallow for me. It's like watching a train wreck.

On the run from a drug deal gone bad, Mike Ross, a brilliant college-dropout, finds himself a job working with Harvey Specter, one of New York City's best lawyers.

Suits Series Premiere Review:
by Chandel Charles June 23rd, 2011 11:30 PM
The jury is in: USA Network has delivered another character-driven drama molded to match its diverse lineup of original summer programming.
On the Suits premiere, we meet Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), a college dropout with an extraordinary memory and a passion for the law. He teams with Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter, a sharp-tongued ace closer, making for an unlikely partnership between two dynamic leads.

This budding bromance, forged on witty banter and film references, can officially be added to the quirky tandems that comprise USA Network originals (Shawn/Gus on Psych, Neal/Peter on White Collar), making Mike and Harvey a must-watch addition to any primetime schedule.

So, why is Suits original? Because the title stands for a lot more than just the tailored fabric of the corporate world. Carefully and artfully, both Mike and Harvey mask their respective realities.

They way he’s dressed, you’d never know Mike wasn’t really an attorney. The better he plays the part, the longer he’s likely to get away with it, which is a necessity given what we learn about his situation. Quick note, though: Mike may want to watch who, and how often, he asks for help filling out subpoenas.

Harvey, meanwhile, is beholden to firm partner Jessica Pearson, who apparently paid his way through Harvard Law School. Life is more complicated for both these individuals than they let on.

Enemies abound for each, as well. Harvey faces Louis Litt, who is determined to catch his rival in even the slightest of infractions. It's safe to assume he won't hesitate to turn him in should Harvey and Mike’s secret get out.
Mike faces his best friend Trevor, from whom Mike’s path has sharply diverged as a result of his chance encounter with Harvey. Will he be able to stay clean and keep his distance? And what’s with Trevor’s girlfriend? She seemed pretty sweet on Mike, which might make for a nice little love triangle running in the background. Let's hope it stays there for now.

I was impressed and intrigued by all the plots weaving in and out of this pilot. Not only were we introduced to some of the back stories and motivations of our leads, but we also learned about those around them.
Paralegal Rachel Zane is a brilliant researcher with ambitions to be a lawyer, thwarted only by her testing anxiety. Could Mike’s knack for law test-taking tempt him to ace the exam on her behalf later on?

And what about firm partner Jessica Pearson? What prompted her generosity towards Harvey all those years ago, and what should we make of it going forward?

As for the case: Mike discovered how the practice of law isn't something that can be perfected in books; only experience can make one understand it. The intrigue surrounding the company's obstruction of justice charge, which Harvey cleverly discerned, made all the difference in the outcome for their client.

It's these kind of examples - where the clients aren't just firms, but individual people - that will create a rewarding partnership for Harvey and Mike in their quest for second chances.
One thing’s for certain: Suits needed just 90 minutes to become one of this reviewer’s summer favorites. What did you think of the chemistry between Macht and Adams and the show overall?

I wish I could say I have enough of a life that these reality based shows are bugging me, but the fact of the matter is as dull as some of these reality based TV shows are, they just have a way of attracting me to the TV set. Big Brother is no different. I've always been a big Real World fan, and although I am no where near a fanatic when it comes to Big Brother, it's still a fairly entertaining show.

By The Way: Brit is gonna win.. why? Wish I could give a better reason.. but I don't think people would vote against a girl with her kind of hair.. she's just too damn sexy.

2- Series Review:
Not Emmy material but still entertaining,
Author: vmars77 from Canada
Big Brother is a show set up where you are isolated in a mansion and each week you have to compete for the prized HOH position. When you are HOH you choose 2 of the house guests to be nominated to be evicted from the house. But then there is the veto competition where 6 of the house guests, the HOH, two nominees, and two randomly drawn players (it used to be the Hoh and noms got to pick 1 person each to play but not anymore). Whoever wins veto can take someone off the block (and they can't be nominated)or leave the noms as is. Then on eviction night everyone except the HOH and 2 noms vote on who is evicted. When there are 9 players left everyone voted off after gets sent to sequester until the final two when they vote for who gets the $500,000 dollar prize.

Okay now Big brother will not win an Emmy anytime soon but it is very entertaining to watch how everything unfolds and I happen to think that sometimes the game is more strategic than Surivor. You must be physical and mental to win the game. And oh yeah, being liked never hurts.

There are always players that win a lot (Janelle, season 6 & All Stars), manipulative players (the evil Dr. Will, season 2 and All Stars), the sidekick (Mike 'Boogie' Season 2 & All stars, Howie, Season 6 & All Stars), the person that needs a good push off their pedestal, I probably spelt that wrong, (Eric 'Cappy' Season 6, Scott Season 5). These players always bring fun to the game and antoher fun bit. If you don't win the food competition you must eat only PB&J (seasons 1-6) or slop (all stars). Slop has been called 'The devil's oatmeal', there is a new food competition each week. If you lose you are on slop, PB&J for a whole week.

Now I must go and if you are reading this part then I thank you for wasting probably a good four minutes to do so. I'll share with you who I wanted to win in all seasons up to All Stars. Season 1- Chicken George Season 2- Dr. Will Season 3- Marcellus or Lisa Season 4- Jun or Jack Season 5- Diane season 6- Janelle Season 7, All Stars- Dr. Will or Janelle.

Thrill Ride with a Twist
by jreinhardt-1 (United States)
This series is one of the best of the year. Michael Donovan is perfect as the Sparta## Ex-Spy turned good guy. I love watching him try to struggle through the emotions of his clients. His relationship with his mother is very strained however you can still see him struggle to not care about his family. Sharon Gless is fun to watch as his chain smoking meddling mother. She's hilarious. Bruce Campbell is a favorite of mine & fits in well with Anwar & Donovan. I'd like to see more from Anwar - I like the changes in accents & would like to see her do more. So far this show has been nothing but entertaining. Donovan can really keep your attention on his stories. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Filming Locations: Los Angeles, California, USA

Storyline:
Phillip Fry is a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy whose life is going nowhere. When he accidentally freezes himself on December 31, 1999, he wakes up 1,000 years in the future and has a chance to make a fresh start. He goes to work for the Planet Express Corporation, a futuristic delivery service that transports packages to all five quadrants of the universe. His companions include the delivery ship's captain, Leela, a beautiful one-eyed female alien who kicks some serious butt, and Bender, a robot with very human flaws.

Fry, a pizza guy is accidentally frozen in 1999 and thawed out New Year's Eve 2999.

Series Plot:
Futurama follows the comic exploits of Fry, a pizza delivery boy, who was accidentally cryogenically frozen in 1999, and awakens in the year 3000, finding much has changed, and, yet, is seemingly familiar. Together with an assortment of alien, robot, and human friends, he works for an intergalactic delivery service, Planet Express, run by his descendant nephew, and finds many adventures along the way.

Series Reviews:
by grimdodger (USA)
Futurama is the second series by Matt Groening. Now when I was watching The Simpsons one idea was that why we can't see this guy more, why he is only behind a widely known TV series while poking some other people. But with Futurama I say he is (OK, was) unleashed.

Futurama deals with moron pizza delivery boy Fry being accidentally frozen and wake up 1000 years after into a whole new world. Strangely this is not the story of the Fry's adaptation, because he is not. He is still the same stupid guy back in 20th century.. Maybe a little improvement but that's all.. Then we meet Leela, who is the only cyclops alien in the whole galaxy (as far as she knows), orphan, different from others. Last but not least the main cast includes Bending Unit Bender which is a robot. Nice thing about him is that the general idea of a robot is that they are always serving and helping and supporting, but Bender does not. He lies, cheats, steals...

Then the supporting cast has the cute and horny Chinese (or Japanese?) Amy, Fry's great^20 nephew professor Farnsworth with crazy inventions but an unstable mind, doctor Zoidberg that mastered on human medical but not a human itself, Jamaican manager who is a qualified limbo master and denying machine...

I like Futurama because it creates an unexpected, yet tempting future and combines it with cunning references and a strange comedy style. It's range of poking is 'wider'..

Futurama can turn any depressed mood to a happy mood if just the watcher accepts the fact that show does not require a deep concentration for the whole concept, but likes to catch it slowly by using trivial extras and nicely planted sci-fi references.

This show was one of the best. Ever. It's a pity that it was canceled an I pity the fool who canceled it. Such things should continue till the end of time.. Thanks to the makers of DVD, they partially do.

Futurama is mandatory for all sci-fi and comedy lovers, and highly recommended for everyone else.

Degrassi is a great show for teens as well as adults. It deals with many important issues including teen pregnancy, homosexuality, losing family members, drug abuse, bullying, puberty, and child abuse. This show teaches many important lessons that everyone needs to know.
Once you start watching this show, you start to think how much your life relates to it. You begin bonding with this show.
I give this show four stars because this show deals with problems calmly, but effectively. It is not only a drama, but also a slight comedy. I recommend this show to anyone.
