Each of these chefs dreams of fame and fortune, but many soon find their dreams becoming nightmares. Chef Ramsay demands quality and the intensity of the challenges is beyond anything the contestants can ever imagine. Split into two teams, they must compete against each other to provide their very best in the kitchen. If they do, they are lavishly rewarded with everything from extravagant trips to a ride on Ramsay's personal yacht. Those that fail are forced to suffer humiliating punishment.At the end of each episode, the chef who provided the best performance in Ramsay's opinion on the losing team is chosen to select two chefs from their own team for elimination. They must then give their reasons for their selection. Though one of these two chefs may be eliminated, Ramsay is under no obligation to choose either, and the final decision as to who is sent home is made solely by him.

this show is everything but creative. that alone is not enough to call it bad, but when it also lacks realistic or at least believable tension and interesting main characters you can call it bad in my opinion.
the main character has all character treats of a saint - and i mean that in a bad way: she is the caring mother, the heartbroken widow, the funny and loyal friend, the tough but also caring (again) chief nurse who bends and breaks the rules when it is called for, but only then. she is also nearly always right, makes no mistakes and stands up against the arrogant doctors. all way to perfect to be interesting and really likable.
the story lines also seem to be written only to show her holiness in the right light. even if she makes a mistake, it all turns out OK, everyone forgives her when she apologizes at once and all is well again. that leaves pretty little room for serious character development too, unless you want to destroy this picture of a model citizen.
the only good thing i can say about this show, is that some side characters are made of better material. but even most of them are textbook stereotypes and even solid acting can save little when there is nothing to save to begin with.

When one of the paintings Mozzie and Neal stashed away is flagged, they have to be at their best to stay ahead of the FBI.Neal seeks the help of a beautiful Egyptologist in order to catch his old foe Matthew Keller who returned to New York to smuggle Egyptian artifacts.Neal goes undercover with a beautiful Egyptologist (Eliza Dushku) in an attempt to apprehend Matthew Keller, who's smuggling Egyptian artifacts. But during a confrontation with Keller, Neal learns his true motives for returning to New York.This speaks to the format of White Collar--the necessity for all the villains to be in New York, be rich, and wear a suit. No matter how menacing one can be, there will be another and another and another, waiting to be busted by Peter and Neal. And no matter how villainous one can be, even one who can kidnap Peter, there is little residual effect, as it was business as usual the next week. Sure, Elizabeth is very worried and upset at the end of the episode,
but that was only after we'd seen once again what Keller is capable of. There is little urgency before the episode to deal with Keller, cheapening his reappearance in the episode a great deal when the dialogue indicates he's a huge threat.Aside from that, "On the Fence" is a damn good episode, taking the deceit that has been building since the season premiere and focusing it with only one episode left this summer. This recurring theme throughout the season strikes much harder than Keller's return for the simple reason because the viewers see it each week and the impact is amplified as the plot progresses.Mozzie has always been the lovable character with a mistrust for the government. He was in illegal activity, but so was Neal, and he seemed like a good person. But we in these episodes, when everything is on the line, that Mozzie has no boundaries. He puts a $6 million hit on Keller to keep him quiet, crossing a line which makes he seem awfully different. And we know that the hit isn't entirely to keep Neal and Sara safe. Mozzie is definitely in it for the money and ready to part company with all the art.

Very clever and has your rooting for both the good guys (FBI) and the bad guy (Neal in this case). The pairing of the FBI couple is just right and of course Matt as the con reminds me so much of Pierce Brosnan in the movie "After the Sunset" in which he played a perfect con man and there grew to be a grudging respect between the con and the FBI guy (Woody).
I can see that happening here too and if this lives up to the first few episodes, I'll be tuning in each week as this show is refreshing. I'm tired of the gore in many of the top crime shows. I actually taped this and showed the first two episodes to a few friends that hadn't heard of it and now I have them hooked on it and they want to watch it each week. Let's hope the networks finally realize the gore is getting to be too much and this type of show really works and let's hope it lasts a long time.

Actor Gerard Butler has reportedly been roped in star in the upcoming FBI thriller The Bricklayer. According to reports, the Hollywood star will play a rogue former agent, who is called in to help battle a criminal group that is demanding an escalating series of multi-million dollar ransom payments.

The movie The Bricklayer is based on the the best-selling novel written by former FBI agent Noah Boyd. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Millenium Films has acquired the rights of the novel and attached Gerard Butler for the lead role. This movie is the first to be assembled by Mark Gill, since he became the president of Millennium Films.

However, Hanna Weg (Enigma) is adapting the novel for the big screen. Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel and Danielle Robinson are producing the film The Bricklayer. The story of the movie is about Steve Vail, who is a former FBI agent and is working as a Chicago bricklayer, whom the agency reaches out to help track down and combat the criminal gang.

Actress Anne Hathaway, who is currently busy filming The Dark Knight Rises, stole the spotlight at the premiere of her latest drama One Day at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 Theater in New York City. Till now it was filmmaker Prakash Jha and actor Amitabh Bachchan, who were upset with the Mayawati Government for barring the Aarakshan team from entering the state, and now it is none other than actor Saif Ali Khan who expressed that it pains to hear that one is not welcome in his or her own country.

“It’s such a shame that political parties are allowed to dictate such terms. Whatever is happening to us at the moment is certainly not desirable,” says Saif. Filmmaker Jha and Mr. Bachchan was denied permission to hold a seminar on job reservation at the Lucknow University. Later, when the makers hired the Indira Gandhi auditorium, permission was yet again denied by the Lucknow development Authority.

Jha after the incident left a message with a close associate of CM Mayawati saying that he is willing to arrange a special screening of Aarakshan for her but the CM has not responded to it. Reports also suggests that Uttar Pradesh government is planning to put a ban on the film's release. Chhote Nawab views that if the Censor Board has passed the film without any cuts, the political parties should respect the decision.

“It is being unnecessarily made into an issue when it is not such an issue. How can you decide what is there in the film even before you have seen the film? We knew that we were working on a controversial subject, but we didn’t know that we would get this kind of treatment from a certain section of people,” adds Saif.

The actor however hopes that political parties will respect the sentiments and not ruin an art in this manner. He says that it is just a film and not a political controversy. He concludes that he is shocked of the happening circulating the film Aarakshan.

Prakash Jha's Aarakshan is in trouble waters. After facing the rage of many politicians and Dalit organisations, the Madras High Court has stayed its release over non-payment of dues.
Based on the suit filed by Madhu Gupta and CG Photo Ltd for recovery of Rs 3.75 crore, the Madras High Court has granted an interim stay on the release of the the film.
