Director Milan Luthria's The Dirty Picture is getting more dirtier. The film is all set to present a series of real life characters on-screen. Till now the highlight of the film was Silk Smitha character, however the recent inclusion of one more strong real life character has increased the weight of the plot. If reports are to be believed the character on a dreaded female journalist from 70-80's called Devyani Chaubal will be featured in The Dirty Picture.

The actors of the past generation used to dread Devyani because she carried a poison pen, which used to expose shocking facts about celebs. She definitely wasn't the favourite of any actors of the Indian film industry. During those days Silk Smitha was a soft target for Devyani because of the kind of characters she used to play in her films. It is believed that though Devyani had openly attacked the South sex siren sevaral times, gradually over a period of time she softened up towards Silk.
When initially lead actress Vidya Balan was informed of the inclusion of the character, the actress thought it to be any regular journalist-actor conversation, which will be shot for The Dirty Picture. But later when she was informed about the power of Devyani during those times, Vidya was startled and shocked.
She learnt that the journalist was allegedly threatened by none other than Dharmendra, as Devyani was the one who made his marriage with Hema Malini public for the first time. Reportedly, it was only Rajesh Khanna from the film industry, who shared a cordial relationship with the journalist.

Well, looks like it will be fun to watch two real life characters, recreated on-screen in The Dirty Picture.

Hindi Movie Not A Love Story 2011 Review And Trailer

Hindi Movie Not A Love Story 2011 Review And Trailer
Friday, August 19, 2011, 10:11 [IST]

Movie Info And Review:
Ram Gopal Varma and controversies go hand in hand. This time along it is his film Not A Love Story that has brought his into the limelight. Undoubtedly, if it is an RGV film, one is sure that the movie will have something unique to show. The maverick film-maker with Not A Love Story narrates a crime story of summer 2008, when two lovers did a terrible thing, committed a heinous murder.
Remember the 2008 murder case (well known as Neeraj Grover murder case), wherein a man (Neeraj) was murdered and his body was chopped into pieces in suburban Mumbai. Not A Love Story is inspired by the murder case. The film narrates what could've provoked such a brutal deed. The film delivers a fact that no one is bad at heart and that this kind of murder happens at the fit of rage at the moment. Not A Love Story delivers that some circumstances forces people to commit such heinous crimes.
It must be noted that though Ram Gopal Varma borrows from real life, Not A Love Story is not exactly a feature film narrating what had exactly happened during the murder. The protagonist in the film is not South Indian actress and her fiance is not a Navy Lieutenant. Not A Love Story is strictly and interpretation of what could have occurred that would have led to such a heinous crime. Through out the film director Varma has brilliantly manages to maintain a neutral stand while narrating the story, thus not supporting the deeds of any of the characters in the film.
In the year 2008, an aspiring model (Mahie Gill) was trying her fate in the Mumbai film industry, when she comes across a person (Ajay Gehi) who lent her a helping hand. One morning her boyfriend (Deepak Dobriyal) lands up when she was with Gehi in her apartment. What follows thereafter is Not A Love Story.

Plus Points:
Not A Love Story looks reals because RGV has filmed the movies in the same building. The scenes in the film and the plot management keeps your interest intact till the end. The murder and the event followed after that, including chopping the dead body into pieces and the accused couple making out in front of the dead body, gives you goose pimple. Later the investigation and the climax wherein Mahie pours her heart out to Dobriyal is captivating.
The screenplay (writer Rohit G. Banawlikar) is brilliant and RGV's execution is spellbinding. Sound design is perfect (Sandeep Chowta's background scores). The movie has two songs, one of which is the new version of the song 'Rangeela Re' from RGV's Rangeela, which is cleverly woven into the narrative. Camerawork is eye-catching.

Performances:
Both Deepak Dobriyal and Mahie Gill are outstanding. They successfully launch the intensity of emotions between the couple played by them in Not A Love Story. Mahie is stunning in the second hour, when the investigations begins. Deepak plays a brilliant maniac and a possessive lover. In fact, the actor hardly speaks and deliver his emotions through his eyes and expressions.
Ajay Gehi is first-rate. Zakir Hussain is excellent. Other side actors Neil Bhoopalam, Darshan Jariwala, Ganesh Yadav and late Rasika Joshi stands out in their respective roles.

Over All:
On the whole, Not A Love Story will leave you shocked, stunned and thrilled. It will not be wrong to say that Not A Love Story is amongst Ramgopal Varma's best works. Don't miss this one!

While showing off baby bump has become a trend in celebs world, there are a few in Bollywood who adhere to it and a few who avoid it. The to-be-mommies of Bollywood, who made big news nationally and internationally, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Lara Dutta, are totally different personalities belonging to the same profession. While Aishwarya avoids making public appearances after the news of her pregnancy broke out, Lara doesn't give a second thought before showing off her baby bump.

Aishwarya was last seen returning from Mumbai to Delhi after declining to accept her French honour owing to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The actress kept it simple by wearing a loose fitting tee and a denim so that not much of her baby bump is clearly visible. Bachchan bahu was apparently approached by an international magazine to flaunt her baby bump for their cover page, but without even a second thought Aishwarya declined the offer.
On the other hand, actress Lara Dutta is enjoying every moment of letting the world know she has the greatest power of humanity, to give birth to a baby. She even went ahead to walk the ramp for Shane Falguni Peacock at the recently concluded Jewellery week. Apparently Lara too has been approached by the international magazine for the baby bump cover shoot, however her official spokesperson refuses on any such offer.

superstar salman khan, film bodyguard, kareena kapoor, dabangg, salman khan relationships

Superstar Salman Khan has seen ups and down both in his professional as well personal relationships. After experiencing several romantic relationships, the actor is clear about what qualities women generally prefer in her man. “A woman would want her man to be charming, lovable, and sweet. She would want flowers, chocolates and candlelit dinners,” says the actor.

Salman, who will soon be seen in the film Bodyguard opposite Kareena Kapoor, gets candid with Mumbai Mirror during an interview. When countered with the question that today's women prefer to be practical and are not attracted to all these present, Khan exclaims, “Oh do you know any woman like that?” Bollywood's Dabangg confidently says that all practicality about women are just on theories. “In reality they love to have all of the above,” he added.

When Salman was asked on giving some tips about how he impresses women, he says, “I don’t have to impress a woman.” The actor views that if one tries to impress a woman then he is not being real and is bound to get a whack on his face. Salman adds, “Be yourself. Don’t do things that you will not be able to do in your relationship after a point of time.”

Well Sallu, that's kind-a great tip for all the boys out there!

Premiering on August 26 in limited release, the indie documentary Chasing Madoff follows Harry Markopolos' decade-long effort to expose the infamous Bernie Madoff and his Ponzi scheme. The documentary is based on Markopolos's book No One Would Listen, a New York Times bestseller that follows his attempts to alert the SEC to the Madoff scheme starting in 2000-- eight years before the crooked financier turned himself in. When the book came out in 2009 Markopolos did an interview with The New York Times and expressed blunt frustration with the SEC for ignoring him, claiming they "weren't even asleep at the switch; they were comatose." He also said that major studios had contacted him about adapting his book into a film, but it seems director Jeff Prosserman has beaten them all to the punch by turning the story into a documentary instead. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2011) English Movie Online Free Trailer Cast Crew and Review

Storyline:
A young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own.

Reviews:
House of Gothicism
9 August 2011 | by alexart-1 (United States)
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is exactly the kind of horror movie you want to hate. It's a remake, it involves a child in peril, and it contains some (and I say "some") very nasty violence. Just watch--you'll have trouble hating it.
Guillermo del Toro's new collaborative effort with first-time director Troy Nixey is, simply put, horror done right. There's a lot here that can be found in any horror movie that comes out now, but this one succeeds for relying on tone and setting rather than blood and guts. The acting from all three leads is surprisingly good, and Nixey shines as well behind the camera.
However, at the heart of the film is a ballsy story co-written by del Toro that really keeps the film stable. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is originally based on a 1973 British TV movie that has been hailed as one of the scariest movies ever made. The remake features a new main character: Sally, a child, played by Bailee Madison. Sally moves into a new Gothic mansion with her father (Guy Pearce) and a new stepmother (Katie Holmes). There, she discovers a ventilation system where she hears breathy voices calling to play with her. At first, the voices are friendly. Then, they're vicious and violent.
The violence of the movie is one of the reasons why this movie succeeds so nicely. The first scene is grisly and is, without a doubt, the reason why Don't Be Afraid of the Dark earned its R-rating rather than its intended PG-13. There isn't constant violence. In fact, there isn't even that much of it. Most of it is bloodless, but all of it is enough to make us squeamish and afraid.
Another area in which the movie excels in that respect is its design. The mansion that Nixey and del Toro chose is gorgeous. The intense lighting, which Nixey noted as "inspired by Rembrandt" in the Q&A following the film, is moody and adds to the heavy tone of the movie. The house is just creepy on its own, but it becomes creepier thanks to the creature design. Unlike what the trailer tells you, the creatures are pretty tiny. What creeped me out about them was the loud, shrill screeches they let out. It'll give you chills. Keep a keen ear and listen for del Toro, as he voices a few of the creatures.
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is a very fun and very creepy horror movie experience. Though not without its flaws, it has a strong story stabilized by good characters and a surprisingly dark ending, and it's got some good acting too. It's hard not to be absorbed in the mesmerizing light pools of the mansion, and it's even harder not to be entertained. As usual in del Toro films, darkness and unseen monsters reign, and as usual, it's pretty damn unnerving.

Amigo (2011) English Movie Online Free Trailer Cast Crew and Review

Storyline:
AMIGO, the 17th feature film from Academy Award-nominated writer-director John Sayles, stars legendary Filipino actor Joel Torre as Rafael, a village mayor caught in the murderous crossfire of the Philippine-American War. When U.S. troops occupy his village, Rafael comes under pressure from a tough-as-nails officer (Chris Cooper) to help the Americans in their hunt for Filipino guerilla fighters. But Rafael's brother (Ronnie Lazaro) is the head of the local guerillas, and considers anyone who cooperates with the Americans to be a traitor. Rafael quickly finds himself forced to make the impossible, potentially deadly decisions faced by ordinary civilians in an occupied country. A powerful drama of friendship, betrayal, romance and heartbreaking violence, AMIGO is a page torn from the untold history of the Philippines, and a mirror of today's unresolvable conflicts.

Reviews:
The Tragedy of Getting Caught in the Crossfire
7 July 2011 | by 3xHCCH (Quezon City, Philippines)
It is always difficult to tackle a war on film equally and fairly. Each side has its own interests to protect and uphold. Everyone regards the other as an enemy against them. There will be losses from all sides, direct and collateral. Yet, in the end, no one really wins. In "Amigo" by veteran director John Sayles, attempts to show all sides of a multi- dimensional conflict that was the Philippine-American War.
The film brings us back to the turn of the previous century, 1900, when Spain just ceded the Philippines to the USA. A group of young American soldiers under former architect Lt. Compton (Garrett Dillahunt) take control of a remote village called San Isidro. Trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in his hostaged neighborhood was the barrio captain Rafael Dacanay (Joel Torre). There was also the Spanish friar Padre Hidalgo who continues his churchly mission, while interpreting for the Americans. On the other front, we have the Filipino revolutionaries who camp out in the jungle, led by Rafael's brother Simon (Ronnie Lazaro).
So we can see here a complicated web of intersecting conflicts that Sayles weaved for us. This was presented in a way that the audience can see the way each of these groups thought. The dialog went from English to Tagalog to Spanish and the occasional Chinese, so everything was seemingly told "in their own words." It will be very interesting how this movie will be viewed by audiences represented by the involved parties. While the story had a slow progression at the start, by the time it reached the climactic scenes, the suspense and tension was electric. The ending though was a bit awkward in my opinion. But definitely, the audience, especially the Filipinos, will identify with the conflicts within the tragic character of Rafael, who was caught between keeping the peace in his barrio, and his brother's cause for Filipino independence.
Joel Torre properly captures Rafael's essence and plays him with fervor and passion. Of course, with all the rather hammy acting of the unknown foreign actors behind them, the talent of Torre and the rest of the veteran Filipino cast (notably Rio Locsin as Rafael's religious wife) shone right through. The one known American actor Chris Cooper was in a one-dimensional villain role as a war freak American colonel. As the friar, Yul Vasquez seemed to be more American than Spanish, as he even had a forced Spanish accent. But I do congratulate him for his very good Tagalog speaking. I'm not very sure if it is an error, but I noted the Chinese characters (who were apparently there for comic relief) were speaking in Cantonese, but the predominant Chinese dialect in the Philippines should be Fukienese.
Overall though, this is a very good and thoughtful film about a war that had not been tackled before in Hollywood before. To his credit, American John Sayles directed this movie as if he was a true Filipino. He was successful in telling us his story from the Filipino point of view. He was even able to inject some vignettes of Filipino rural culture with scenes of a fiesta, a funeral and cockfighting. Filipinos should really go out and support this unique motion picture.

Reviews:
A charming film, with some naughty bits.
19 June 2011 | by Julian Darley (London)
This movie has some really funny moments, considerable charm, and a nice sensibility, all too rare in most modern British films.
If you are married (or have ever been in a relationship of more than five minutes), you will be able to identify with the Finkels' problems and be amused by the varied and intriguing solutions they come up with to add some spice to their ailing sex life. There is also a nice contrast with the other main couple and we see how both couples deal with the same problem in rather different ways.
The unusual locations in London were used to great effect and the art direction was excellent.

Charts the headlong fall of Pinkie, a razor-wielding disadvantaged teenager with a religious death wish.

Synopsis:
With the aesthetics of a British gangster flick and the soul of classic film noir, screenwriter Rowan Joffe's debut feature BRIGHTON ROCK tells the story of Pinkie, an ambitious teenage gangster who will stop at nothing to make a name for himself in Britain's sinister world of organized crime. His aspirations are nearly derailed when Rose, a naïve local waitress, stumbles upon evidence linking him to a revenge killing. To keep his alibi alive, Pinkie seduces Rose, weaving a chilling web of deception and passion, violence and love. Set in the picturesque seaside resort of Brighton, England, the film updates Graham Greene's iconic 1939 novel to 1964-at the height of Britain's Mods and Rockers riots-and stars the sexy, up-and-coming British pair Sam Riley (CONTROL, ON THE ROAD), in a performance of intense cunning and charm, and Andrea Riseborough (MADE IN DAGENHAM and the upcoming W.E. directed by Madonna) as the young couple. Veterans Helen Mirren and John Hurt co-star as friends who set out to protect Rose from Pinkie and the dangerous world she is quickly falling into. Flypaper (2011) Hollywood Movie Online Free Trailer Cast Crew and Review

Movie Summary Plot:
Tripp Kennedy (Patrick Dempsey) ambles into a bank near closing time, just as two different gangs unwittingly converge to rob it. A shoot-out erupts, and Tripp tackles the smart, pretty teller, Kaitlin (Ashley Judd), to protect her. The gangs—one clearly made up of pros and the other a couple of buffoons named Peanut Butter (Tim Blake Nelson) and Jelly (Pruitt Taylor Vince) —have deadlocked themselves in a Mexican standoff. The bank’s security system starts the end-of-day lockdown and seals everyone into the building. As the night evolves, a hilarious game of cat and mouse ensues as Tripp and Kaitlin try to save the day, escape being killed, and avoid falling in love

Storyline:
A man caught in the middle of two simultaneous robberies at the same bank desperately tries to protect the teller with whom he's secretly in love.

Part heist picture, part farce, part whodunit, and all frantic genre exercise for its own sake, Flypaper builds off the hooky premise of two simultaneous bank robberies. One group of thieves is of the Hans Gruber-in-Die-Hard variety, high-tech and professional, with fancy steel-cased laptops, helmets with night-vision goggles, and enough firepower to blast their way through any barricade. The other are a pair of redneck, smash-and-grab types who appear deep into the 600s on a list of Most Wanted for Grand Larceny. Written by Scott Moore and Jon Lucas, the team responsible for The Hangover, Flypaper mingles these two parties with the bank staff, but the sprawling ensemble yields to a story that’s so heavily worked-over, it doesn’t get much of a chance to breathe. Everything and everyone acts as cogs in a relentless plot machine that keeps twisting and twisting like an annoying little gizmo on Christmas morning.
Near closing time, bank teller Ashley Judd deals with one last customer, played by Patrick Dempsey, a Rain Man type who wants his $100 bill broken down into quirky permutations of quarters, dimes, and nickels. Meanwhile, two heist jobs develop around them: The high-tech crew, led by Mekhi Phifer, wants to penetrate the vault; the rednecks, played by Tim Blake Nelson and Pruitt Taylor Vince, want to blow up the ATMs and walk away with whatever cash goes unscorched. Dempsey works out a truce between the dueling thieves, but his overactive mind—which suggests ADD, OCD, autism, and the absence of medication—brings out his inner Columbo, and his amateur sleuthing puts Judd and her co-workers in danger.

Movie Review:
Amazing Cinematic Achievement,
By Janelle Eagle
I saw this film at Outfest 2011 and was blown away not only by the film's quality of visual and emotional impact, but also the amazing achievement that the artists have made by getting this story told in the first place. The international cast and crew have each taken big risks by telling this gripping story about two young women in love in Iran.
Our audience at the screening was struck by the POSITIVE and FUN images of Iranian youth- excited, energetic, comedic, brave. Very much in contrast with what the media tells us Tehran "looks like." The two female leads are incredibly stunning and give amazing performances. They say more with their eyes than paragraphs or monologues would need to convey. Their chemistry is palpable and the brief but urgent love scenes make any audience member root for their success.
The Director, Maryam Keshavarz, is talented, well-spoken, has a clear and distinct voice and is someone to watch.
