The series was renewed for a third season on March 17, 2011. Jim Rash, who portrays Dean Pelton, has been promoted to a series regular after having a recurring role throughout the first two seasons. Michael K. Williams has been cast as the study group's new biology professor, who is described as a deeply intense character.[8] John Goodman will appear in a multi-episode arc as Vice Dean Laybourne, the head of Greendale's air conditioning repair school, and will be a foe for Dean Pelton. Martin Starr will guest star in the second episode of the season as a political science professor and project advisor when the study group take a Model UN class; with Starr possibly returning later in the season. Larry Cedar will appear in an early episode as Cornelius Hawthorne, the patriarch of the Hawthorne family and Pierce's father. In the same episode, Jerry Minor will return as the Greendale custodian who previously appeared in "English as a Second Language" and "For a Few Paintballs More". Creator Dan Harmon plans on making the third season more cohesive than the previous, with more connectivity between the storylines of the episodes, as well as to make the show more grounded, with somewhat less 'special' episodes. Harmon is also planning out the characters' storylines for the entire season. Upcoming 'special' episode ideas include an episode involving multiple timelines, and the possibility of an anthology-type Halloween episode (a la "Treehouse of Horror"). Explaining the theme of the third season, and Jeff's journey for the season, Harmon says, "Season 3 is about the price that you pay when you figure out that you love a group of people. That's it in a nutshell. It's about the high cost of valuing people other than yourself, and that's the path that Jeff has been on. The third chapter for him is going to be the toughest of all. As the Greendale study group gathers in the library, they wonder whether they will see their old friend Pierce, who left the study group in a huff after last spring's paintball game. Jeff quickly butts heads with their new biology teacher Professor Kane and is kicked out of class - leading to a crisis within the group about whether they will all stay together. Dean Pelton is feeling empowered after a summer at "Dean Camp" but finds a new nemesis in Vice Dean Laybourne, dean of the highly regarded Air Conditioning Repair Annex at Greendale.

Synopsis:

Regional manager Michael Scott (Steve Carell) is a single, middle-aged man who is the boastful tour guide for the documentary. With unshaken enthusiasm, Michael believes he is the office funnyman, a fountain of business wisdom and his employees' cool friend. He has no clue that his employees tolerate his inappropriate behavior only because he signs their paychecks. Painstakingly trying to be liked and to look cool, Michael comes off alternately absurd and pathetic. His prize possession is his "World's Greatest Boss" mug -- which he had to buy for himself.

Shahrukh Khan, while addressing news persons at 'Express Adda' event, hosted by the Indian Express in Mumbai last night spoke high of his arch rivals Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Referring to Salman and Aamir as seniors, Shahrukh said, “ They were working in films for about four years before I came. Everybody keeps talking about us, the triumvirate.”

Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir have always been pitted against each other. In fact, Salman and Shahrukh, who were once very good friends have been rumoured to take a dig at each other every time they got an opportunity. However, Shahrukh's genuine admiration for both Salman and Aamir was obvious when he spoke of them at the event.
Shahrukh said, “We were as friendly as could be. And at times very close, I believe. Aamir, myself and Salman, we shared some really good moments. We used to go for drives and stuff like that. Sometimes you realise that a lot of proximity, closeness brings about... too much familiarity and we step on each other's toes.
To me, any star who does well, is fantastic. Audiences love the way he (Salman) dances. I can''t do that. It does not mean I can deride it. I have seen Dabangg and I think it is a fantastic film.”
Speaking of Salman and Aamir's achievement, Shahrukh Khan said, “When it comes to someone like an Aamir Khan or a Salman Khan or even the younger boys, I think you have to sit back and say, wow, it is very cool and just appreciate it.”
Shahrukh Khan, who is under tremendous pressure as his ambitious project Ra.One is due to release next month, the actor said, “The pressure encourages you to think, that I am gonna try harder and match upto it. You have someone to look upto. I am humble enough and great enough to accept that.”
Hinting at the soured relation between him and Salman, Shahrukh said, “People believe that because the relationships have soured over the years between some of us, one would not appreciate the stardom of others.”

Actor John Abraham, who is known for his obsession for motorcycles, has lifted up a bike weighing 150 kg and thrown it in his upcoming action film Force, which is slated to release this Friday. The Bollywood star performed the same bike action scene before the media on yesterday evening (September 27). He lifted up and threw a 115 kg bike.

John Abraham has got a huge fan base especially female for flexing his muscles. The sexiest bachelor of Bollywood does not want to resort to cables to do the live daredevil scene. "The bike that I picked up today was about 115 kg in weight. It was difficult. But as I weigh 88 kg I can pick up anything," the PTI quotes the actor as saying.
However, John Abraham has played ACP Yashvardhan in movie Force, which is a remake of Tamil movie Khaaka Khaaka. Talking about the action scene in the film, John said, "It was a requirement for one of the scenes where my character had to lift a bike and then throw it."

Actress Genelia D' Souza in her upcoming film Force opposite John Abraham has consciously tried to break away from the ''cute, bubbly girl'' image. Genelia D'Souza has so far mostly played roles of young energetic girls - Tujhe Meri Kasam and Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na among others.

Speaking to journalists, Genelia said, “It was a conscious effort to throw out my hair...the image that I had from Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na...immature, baby girl-like. For this film, I have grown into a lady...a mature woman with my character Maya.”
The actress will be seen romancing with John Abraham in Force, directed by Nishikanth Kamat, a National Award winning film director.
Elaborating on her role in Force, Genelia said, “I think while the young, cute, energetic girl has been something most people associate me with, 'Force' has given me a character who is a mature extension of that bubbly girl."
Force is a remake of superhit Tamil film, Kaakha Kaakha (2003). In the original version, south actress Jyothika Saravanam was a school teacher, while in the Hindi version, Genelia is featured as a social activist.

After a long time, actor John Abraham has once again attempted daredevil stunts in his upcoming film Force and he cannot stop himself from talking about the action scenes. The Bollywood star calls it raw and real action and he compares his action-thriller to Sunny Deol's hit movie Ghayal.

Addressing the media at the press meet yesterday, John Abraham spoke about his action scenes in Force. "This film (Force) has that real and raw action. And last time you saw this real action was when Sunny Deol used to do Ghayal, Arjun Pandit... that real action that he did... dhai kilo ka haath. And I think the masses like size and hard hitting action," John told the PTI.
John Abraham added, "In terms of action in the movie, it is all real and raw action film. We have tried to avoid cables as far as possible and have used it only when safety is concerned. It is not like you kick or punch and leaves the goons suspended in the air. After Ghayal this is the real raw film in the action genre.”
However, the movie Force, which is directed by Nishikant Kamath, stars Genelia D'Souza alongside him. John Abraham gushed further, "I always wanted to become an action hero. I just hope I get more action roles after this film. I enjoy this space. This film (Force) is not all about stunts and action-action. It is a romantic-action-thriller film...romance is beautiful in this movie.”
