Storyline:
In Rutland Country, the six year-old Benjamin Michael Landry is kidnapped by a psychopath in the lawn of his house. His father Craig Landry unsuccessfully runs after the truck but the abductor escapes. Sooner the police discovers that John Kozlowski had abducted and killed Benjamin. When the criminal is sentenced to 25 years in prison only, Benjamin's mother Elise Landry presses her husband to kidnap John and torture him. Craig is a doctor and knows exactly how to inflict pain to the psychopath. They succeed to kidnap John from the prison transport, but Craig has an accident and John is hurt. The couple tortures the man until they find the truth about their victim.

Movie Plot Summaary:
Everyone knows what to do if one morning the sky would be absolutely full of UFOs: run as fast as you can. However, what would happen if the invasion started while you are in the flat of the girl of your dreams, the one you have just met?When Julio wakes up in a strange apartment after a night of partying, he’s pleasantly surprised to discover it belongs to a beautiful one-night-stand he can’t remember - Julia. What’s already an awkward situation is made even more so when they discover a giant flying saucer hovering above the city, which is now deserted. Now Julio must contend with a jealous ex-boyfriend, an eccentric neighbor – and very possibly the end of the world!

Movie Storyline:
There’s only one sane response when you wake up to a sky full of alien invaders – run like hell. But what do you do if the invasion starts when you’ve just met the girl of your dreams? Julio wakes up – horribly hungover and with no memory of the night before – next to a mindblowingly sexy girl, in a stunning apartment. She wants him to get out now but the alien invasion that’s just begun outside is the perfect excuse for Julio to stay. And even though things are growing worse by the minute, even though the girl’s husband has arrived on the scene… even though the alien threat is getting more and more terrifying, Julio’s clear about one thing. Just like the monstrous creatures that have traveled across galaxies to destroy Mankind, he’s here to stay.

Movie Review:
by Swarez,Timecrimes director Nacho Vigalondo returns with this sci-fi comedy that finds aliens invading a blossoming romance. Nacho Vigalondo burst on to the feature film scene with his debut Timecrimes, a dark and complicated take on time travel. Fans were eager to find out what he would be up to next so when he started working on his follow up titled Extraterrestrial people were intrigued and most thought that this would be some alien/sci-fi flick. So when the film premiered at TIFF this year the first word that got out was that of some disappointment, that this was nothing like Timecrimes and was in fact a rather small scale romantic comedy with only a small hint of sci-fi. That of course is true, Extraterrestrial is nothing like Timecrimes in any shape or form, but what it is like are the short films Nacho produced and directed before his feature debut which were all predominately comedies with interesting twists. So if you knew his work aside from Timecrimes this shouldn't have come as a surprise or as a let down....Extraterrestrial is surprisingly simple in its execution, compared to some of Nacho's earlier shorts that can create incredibly complicated narratives with simple methods. All his short films are extremely well thought out and usually because of some twist to the normality that we are so used to. Here the film is all about character so all the thought goes in to them and their actions. So while Extraterrestrial probably isn't what many people wanted to see from him after Timecrimes it is a logical follow up to his past works and if you are a fan of that you won't be disappointed in this....

Storyline:
Iris invites her friend Jack to stay at her family's island getaway after the death of his brother. At their remote cabin, Jack's drunken encounter with Hannah, Iris' sister, kicks off a revealing stretch of days.

A relationship movie that feels fresh

I ended up seeing this movie at the Toronto film fest in a rather circuitous way but I'm awfully glad I did.
Nary a car chase nor explosion, but instead a quiet and thoughtful film. It touches on relationships, death, siblings, betrayal, unrequited love, honesty, fears, and forgiveness… and does so in a very believable and refreshing way.
Most of the movie takes place at a secluded rustic waterfront cottage, a family cabin that Iris (Emily Blunt) has suggested her 'bestie', Jay (Mark Duplass) visit to clear his head; he's still emotionally stuck at the one year anniversary of his brother's death.
The secluded locale - without phones, computers and the usually daily distractions - is the conduit which allows the abundance of emotions and introspective feelings bubble up and expose themselves to a trio of characters connected in various and interesting ways.
These three individuals are both frustrating with their flaws, yet endearing with their fragility and weaknesses. How easy it is to identify with all of them! … which can perhaps be attributed to the impromptu conversation Director Lynn Shelton nurtured and encouraged from the mere 70 page script. She confessed that 75% of the dialogue was improvised allowing a unique honesty to develop within each character, thanks to a stellar cast.
I'm thankful Shelton stuck around Toronto for this third screening – she's originally from Seattle which is where this was filmed - and was more than willing to open up to the audience at a post Q&A where we heard her speak passionately and reflectively about the 12 day shoot (wow!) with almost no funding and how she lucked in to Emily Blunt coming on board (thanks to a shared agent) who was keen on the challenge and experience. Also it was nice to hear that during the festival the film had found distribution through IFC, and that cast and crew would now be compensated for this wonderful collaboration.
This film's a winner to me. I hope you have an opportunity to see it.
